I want to start this post off by saying I am not a doctor! I have not consulted a doctor either about any of the things I am about to tell you, but I am going to tell you that Vicks has worked for me for the following things! So, if you ever want to try, or need to try I hope this sticks in the back of your mind and helps you out like it has helped me! Also, if you have never used Vick’s before, please test it out on a little patch first!

Relieves muscle pain: My mom swore by this for the longest time, to be honest, most of these tips learned from her! So I used this last week when I hurt my calf. My calf muscle was so tight I literally could not walk on my right leg for 24 hours, and I was waking up in pain in the middle of the night like every hour! I had a doppler test done because my doctor was worries it was a blood clot, thank goodness it was not! But anyways, my mom would massage the Vick’s into my leg (even touching my calf hurt, so I was crying the whole time). So she would massage it in before bed, and then I would sleep with it on overnight. After the first night, I was able to walk on my leg with a little limp. The second night I was able to walk fully with a bad pull, the third night I just felt a slight pull! The muscle was so tight it was horrible, but honestly Vick’s helped! Even my doctor agreed it was the right way to go!
Helps with cystic acne: My mom actually told me about this when I was going through it with my skin. At first I didn’t believe her, but now.. man oh man! Here is what I have learned. If you are breaking out with cystic acne, or any acne that is painful, because you know we have all been there, add a little bit of Vick’s to your pimples at night before bed. Sleep with it on, I usually get about 7-8 hours of sleep. Then when you wake up in the morning your pimple will reduce in size, look less red and hurt a hell of a lot less!! I’ve done this 3 nights in a row to the same pimple and my pimple or skin did not have any bad reactions!
Helps with headaches: If you often get sinus headaches all you have to do is put some Vicks around your nose and inhale, after (not right away) you will feel how your headache went away!
Helps to get rid of belly fat: I actually have never done this, but I saw a video and I want to! It can be used to help reduce fat loss, I don’t know if it gets ride of water weight, or fat, but you will see a difference inch wise if you do this! Apply vicks to where you want to lose weight. So if I wanted to lose my stomach, I would apply Vicks to my stomach, then wrap my stomach in plastic wrap, and I would cover that with a sweat wrap, and then leave it on for 8 hours! After that you will see inches melt right off your stomach!
Helps get rid of toenail fungus: This trick is super easy to follow too! All you have to do is take a Q-Tip and then put the Vick’s around your nail cuticle, and then over the fungus part of your nail, and if you can, put it under your nail too! Do this every night and put your cotton socks on! Give it about 2 weeks and you’ll notice a difference in your nail!
Cold relief: If you find that you feel sick with a head cold, or congestion and cough, all you have to do is apply Vicks where you feel ill. So apply it on your chest, neck, nose or whenever you feel the sickness is settling. If you do it at night the next morning you will feel that you feel a little more relieved.
Helps cracked feet: My godmother actually told me this trick, so thank you Titi Les! She told me of you have dried cracked heels, or any callus’ then put some Vick’s on before bed and then put on some cotton socks and then your feet will wake up softer in the morning!
Like I said before, make sure to spot test or talk to a doctor before doing these things. This has just been a family remedy of mine since I was little. Literally anything that was wrong, we would cover up with Vicks and feel better. It really is the truth!

I haven’t heard all of these before. When we had bad colds as kids, my mom would rub it on our backs and chest and neck. Wrap a towel around the neck – kinda rolled up- before bed. You always feel better in the morning. My kids pretty much refuse this unless they are too sick to complain. Lol
