Dry Skin Tips To The Rescue

This winter has been kicking my butt. Normally my skin is just an oily mess. My skin has NEVER been this dry. Who’s with me ladies and gents?

I don’t know if it is a combination of my skin changing (I am sadly getting older), the weather being so cold and windy, or even my acne medication that I was on. Truthfully I’ll go with the second and last option because I refuse to acknowledge I am getting older.

But truth be told, dry skin is the worst. Lately, I feel like my face is dry, my lips are dry and even my skin, specifically my hands. Well in this post, I have rounded up a few tricks, tips and items that will help you beat this winters butt!

  1. Dry Hands: Every time I wash my hands I feel like my skins getting drier. To be honest, this is probably thanks to my job’s bad, drying soap they give us in the bathroom. The cure? Try moisturizing your hands once you get back to your cube/office/desk. I feel like this helps my skin feel a little softer. I use The Zoella Wonder Hand Moisturizing Hand cream. You can buy it here for $6.59.
  2. Dry Feet: So, I know most people HATE sleeping with socks on. But during the winter I actually recommend doing so! Only because you would want to put vaseline or any intense cream or moisturizer on your feet, and then put some cotton socks on. Trust me your dry feet will thank you in the morning! They will feel like new. You can get it here for $4.59 USD.
  3. Dry Lips- Masks: I feel like winter just kills your lips. I think it’s because of the wind just constantly hitting your face. I was getting those cracks at the corner too! Those hurt so bad! Well, ladies and gents I found a great solution! The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has seriously saved the day. The first time I put this on was when my lips were really dry, cracked, and I was starting to get the cracks at the corners too. I put this on at night and then the next morning my lips just looked brand new! You can buy it here, for $20 USD. I have the original, but they also have a vanilla one. You really only need a little amount and it really goes a long way. This will last you months!
  4. Dry Skin: So this year my skin has been feeling dry. During the day I use Lubriderm for normal to dry skin, the blue one, and that does the job. It doesn’t make me feel greasy or anything. But for nighttime, I use the Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter. Guys, I can’t say enough about this. First, the packaging is just so cute. Second, the smell is just amazing! It smells like a spa. It just gets me rejuvenated and it also calms me down it that makes sense. But lastly, it really does the job. I feel like it gets deep into my skin and really hydrates me as much as possible. It doesn’t leave me oily or greasy and a little goes a long way. It absorbs into my skin really fast, and the natural blue color goes away once you rub it into your skin. You can get it here for $48 USD.
  5. Dry Lips- Balms: One lip balm that I discovered this winter that has made such a big difference is this Bath & Body Works Ultra MenthaMentha Lip Shine. First, the smell of this is just so good! It is a little strong but I love it. They have different scents. I also love that it gives a cooling sensation. I am a huge fan of anything cooling. Lastly, I love how shiny this is! You can get away with wearing it as a gloss during the day because it looks like one! You can get it here for $7.50 USD.
  6. Dry Lips Scrubs: This Milani Keep is Sweet Sugar Lip Scrub is just the best. It is super gentle on the lips, all you do it take a tiny bit and then you scrub it on your lips and take it off with a wet towel. After I usually apply a mask or a balm, but it doesn’t irritate my lips at all. They are left soft and pretty moisturizing. You can get it here for $9.99 USD. The Lush Lip Scrub is also amazing! I love the bubblegum flavor. You apply it the same way, just scrub it on your lips but the difference is you can eat this one! It makes it a bit cooler! LOL. It tastes really good too! I feel like this one is a bit rougher than the Milani one, but it doesn’t irritate my lips either. You just feel the scrub a bit more. You can get it here for $10.95 USD.
  7. Dry face: So my skin is usually an oily mess like I was telling you guys before, but this winter, I’m dry, and sometimes I look even a little flakey. But I sound some awesome hydrating face masks and sheet masks to help you guys out! First, I love Dr. Jart Hydrating Mask, the Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution one specifically. This mask gives me a nice glowy, dewy finish. You can get it here for $ 6 USD. The Creme Shop Resveratrol Face Mask. This mask is described as, “The Creme Shop’s resveratrol face mask contains resveratrol extract to promote ageless skin. Known for its benefits in red wine and dark chocolate, resveratrol is a natural antioxidant that is the next best thing to the Fountain of Youth. Reverses skin damage and smoothens deep and fine wrinkles.”This leaves me so smooth, and dewy. You can get this here for $3 USD. Next, Neutrogena has 2 options for this hydrating mask. They have a sheet mask that you use for 15 minutes, and they also have an overnight gel mask which you wear all night. You can get the overnight mask here $2.57 USD, and the sheet mask here for $2.57 USD. for And to be honest this is AMAZING. It doesn’t leave feeling greasy, it just makes my skin feel so soft and so glowy.
  8. Dry Face Skincare Help: So above I mentioned face masks but now I want to talk about a great serum and a great night cream that really transformed my skin this winter. Okay let me talk about Serum first, my cousin actually told me about this, and literally after one use, there is a such a difference. This is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Hydrating Serum. It doesn’t leave my skin with a weird feeling, but I feel super hydrated after I use this. I was drying up around my nose (from the constant sneezing) and literally, it made that dryness and flakiness go away! It even gave my skin a plump youthful appearance. You can get it here for $36 USD. This next product I actually got because Casey Holmes said it was amazing. It is the Korres
Wild Rose + Vitamin C Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial. This is the best thing ever, first, it feels really cool on the skin, and I love the feel of this. This is basically an overnight facial, and seriously it makes such a difference to my skin, my skin is hydrated and looks really fresh, bright and plump when I wake up in the morning. It also has a floral scent that isn’t too strong. You can get it here for $48 USD.
  9. Humidifier: Humidifiers add moisture to the air to prevent dryness. I have been using a humidifier and seriously it makes such a difference. The air doesn’t feel as dry and then you can even tell a difference with your skin! My skin feels a bit softer when I use humidifiers. It also makes my nose less dry and I can breath better at night. They also say humidifiers which add a certain percentage to your air can help prevent viruses.
  10. Drink plenty of water: You guys are probably getting tired of hearing this ( I assume you hear this often). But the more water you drink, the better your skin looks. It also helps boost your immune system. It also helps with winter dehydration- yes that is a thing! Usually, during winter, you’re not sweating. So you won’t even notice you haven’t drunk any water. So lesson learned, drink that water!

I hope these tips help you this winter season. They are the tips I have been living by all winter, and they have really helped my skin! Say goodbye to that winter dry skin with these great lotions, masks, moisturizers, serums and tips!
