I received the Luxie 3 Piece Flawless Complexion Set in my June Boxycharm. It retails for $38.00 USD. You can find it here. I have so many brushes but a gal can’t ever have too many.
This set includes:
Precision Foundation Face Brush 660 – perfect for applying both powder and liquid foundations
Tapered Highlighting Face Brush 522 – it is a fluffy, tapered brush perfect to apply powder highlighter or to set your under eye makeup.
Duo Fiber Powder Brush 516 – perfect to apply cream or powder makeup for a softer, flawless finish.
I do like how each brush is labeled with its name. I find that useful when I am looking for a specific type of brush. I wish more brushes did this. I am the worst at knowing what brush does what so this is so helpful!
The foundation brush doesn’t leave my application streaky at all like some brushes can do. It’s super soft, and the bristles don’t come off which is good too! I have only used it for liquid foundation.
I love highlighting brushes. Highlighters are my favorite. I first used it to use a banana-colored powder under my eyes then I used it to apply highlighter. It didn’t take away from any of the pigmentation from my highlight either which I was worried about. I love how I can use this brush for multiple things.
The powder brush get’s good use from me. I ALWAYS set with a powder. It’s super fluffy and picks up a lot of product which I like. When using a powder to set my face, I always use a stippling motion. I feel that gets the powder deep into my pores and for a smoother finish and a more matte look.
The color of the brushes are so cute too. They are a light pink with silver/rose gold words and grip around the brush. The brushes are white and grey. It’s a chic style, and will 100% be in my makeup bag.
The one downside is this set came with a sort of chemical smell. Obviously that went away once I let them sit out for a bit, but it still was pretty unpleasant.
What’s your favorite brush set?
xo,
Melissa

Not necessarily a brush set, but there are brands that I really trust, like MAC, Real Techniques and Zoeva.
You never have too many makeup brushes 🙂

Totally recommend the 217 (natural hair, if that’s still available). And the 224 by all means!!
