A Guide to Hosting the Perfect Cozy Movie Night

SOS Barbie comes out to stream on certain platforms on September 12.

As I am writing this on September 12, I realize one I need to talk to you guys about it, and two we need to discuss how to host the perfect cozy movie night at home. Now that fall is right around the corner, as is cooler weather one thing I love is streaming movies and shows and watching them in the comfort of my own home. One of my favorite things to do around Halloween is rewatch some classics under some blankets with some yummy snacks.

Let’s break down some of the must-haves for a perfect cozy movie night.

Cozy Viewing Room

I go all in on lazying up the living room. We have a big sofa, so I like to add in all of the chunky, soft blanks, and ensure we have a ton of pillows for ultimate relaxation. You want enough space to sprawl out, put your feet up and enjoy.

Equipment and ambiance

We have a large Samsung TV, but if not a projector works, or another great option, stream from an iPad or computer. Always make sure the lights are dimmed. Then add a few candles for a nice scent and a nice ambiance.

Classic Movie Night Foods

This is the best part, you’re at home so you can eat pretty much anything you want.

  • Nachos
  • Popcorn
  • Concession stand candy (you can buy at any grocery store or drugstore) Milk duds are my favorite
  • Water and or soda
  • Wine, or mixed drinks 21+, please
  • Mozzarella sticks
  • Chips
  • Charcuterie board
  • Pretzels
  • Cookies
  • Chocolate
  • Ice cream
  • The list can go on and on.

This about sums up everything I do and have for a great movie night, solo or with loved ones. If you have any more tips I’d love if you shared them.

I’m always up for watching new shows or movies, leave your favorite shows or movies down in the comments below!
