There are so many skincare products out there, it gets difficult to understand what really works and what reason behind the skincare ingredient .

Today let’s talk about retinol.

First let me start off by saying consult your dermatologist! Retinol is powerful! Also, be sure to always patch test your skin. As always, discontinue use if it irritates your skin.

The benefits:
Stimulate collagen
Accelerate skin turnover
Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
Blur acne marks and other blemishes

They help to even out skin tones and increase blood flow to your skin.

Some side effects:
Redness
Dry skin
Flaking of skin
Sun sensitivity
Irritation

Truthfully there are some side effects of retinal, but the good outweigh the bad for me! Be sure to start off slow with any retinol. Try using it once a week, then twice a week, then every other day. Build your skins tolerance up. Patch test first always! I recommend using a retinol for during your skincare routine! My skin has grown to love it, and I am seeing results!

Usually around 8 weeks is when you will notice a difference in your skin, so be consistent.
