Question: When to Curl Your Lashes?

Answer:

You should curl your lashes before you put on mascara. The reason being, is because after you put on mascara your lashes are sort of damp, they are brittle, and prone to breaking. The chance of your lashes getting stuck to your curler, and ripping off after you apply mascara is huge. Don’t take that risk!

One trick that I love?

I love to curl my lashes before I put on eyeshadow, so they have a pretty lift- but that lift will drop because you don’t have mascara to help it stay lifted. So after I apply the shadow, I like to curl again so that my lashes look extra curled and stay lifted.

Another tip for getting the perfect curl? Curl three times, each time. Yep! You read that right!

Essentially, each time you curl, you want to curl your lashes in three places. First you want to curl near the base of your lashes, near your lash-line. Hold for 10 seconds. Then curl at the middle of your lashes, hold for 10 seconds , then curl again towards the tip of your lashes and hold for 10 seconds

So here’s a quick breakdown:

Curl at base- hold for 10 seconds
Curl at middle- hold for 10 seconds
Curl at tips- hold for 10 seconds
Apply eye-shadow (if you are)
Curl at base- hold for 10 seconds
Curl at middle- hold for 10 seconds
Curl at tips- hold for 10 seconds
Then mascara- I usually recommend 2 coats!
