Instead of doing my usual Fashion Friday, today I wanted to talk about International Women’s Day. Today is Friday, March 8th and it is International Women’s Day. You can read more about the day here. This year’s theme is #balanceforbetter.

Per the IWD site, ” A balanced world is a better world. How can you help forge a more gender-balanced world? Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality. ” There are so many events you can attend in honor of this day, and if you can’t do that then join me on social media!

I’m partnering up with E! News entertainment for this post here! I want to share my story about 2 women in my life who made me the woman I am today. I look up to both of these women so much.

First, my mom, aka my best friend. She is a single mom and did so much for my brother and me. Truthfully she juggles everything. She is such a strong, smart, beautiful, independent women and I want to be like her more and more everyday. She has such a huge heart, but is stern when she needs to be!

The next lady is my grandma, aka mama. She is one tough cookie who tells you exactly like it is. She is 83 years old and just retired. She still does more than me on a daily! She raised me growing up too! She spoiled me so much, still does, but she teaches me while doing so.

I wouldn’t be who I am without these 2 ladies in my life. They are my role models, best friends and I hope to become more like them each passing day!

Honestly, I find myself so lucky that I am able to be a third generation in this family. It is so beautiful to have the 3 of us together and I don’t take it for grated. These two ladies are my best friends and I don’t know what I would do without them.
