Two weekends ago I was lucky to be able to do Stacie, my good friend’s makeup for her daughters first birthday. We were talking about it for weeks and she told me everything she envisioned along with her outfit, hair and shoe choice.

The pressure was on but I was so excited to do it! I was able to really put my makeup skills to the test. I have done my moms makeup before, but this was so special for multiple reasons. Stacie admitted she hates getting her makeup done because most people don’t do it right (We have all had bad experiences) I’m so happy she trusted me that much to do it! Two its an occasion where she would have a ton of photos taken and would remember forever, so I wanted it to be perfect.

She told me she wanted a purple eye that was gold on the inner and transformed into a deep purple towards the outer part of her eyes. As you guys know, I don’t play around with color often, so it was a great excuse to play with colors. (plus by the end of this I realized I needed to incorporate more color into my makeup- so I started)

Stacie already had her foundation and her concealer on when I came over, so that left me to bronzer, blush, and eye makeup.

I wish I took photos of the products that I used, but sadly I forgot. So I am just going to tell you how I achieved this overall look!

I first prepped her eyelids, and to do so I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I used this one here, it has a little bit of a shimmer to it. I then added tape to her eyes.

After that I put in a transition shade, I used a light brown, and I used my Precise blending brush to do so. I used windshield wiper motion to blend that in, and then went above the crease and did little circular motions.

I then went in middle (not too dark and not to light) purple shade and applied that just below the crease, when I didn’t have a lot left on my brush, I went on and above the crease.

I then went in with a darker shade and patted that along the outer “V” of the eye. I wanted to deepen this area up. I then wanted it to be a bit more vibrant so I went in with a more vibrant purple that also had a bit of shimmer to it.

Then in the middle, I used a purple-ish/pink-ish color to and transitioned that into the outer “V” this also had a bit of shimmer to it. I did mini windshield wiper motions to do so.

In the front, I just packed on the gold shadow. I decided against doing a cut crease because it made the gold seem more yellow in my trial versions.

To transition the gold to the purple/pink color, I added a little tiny bit of pink on the edged to the gold to make for an easy ombre look.

I then added a thin wing, and we put on mascara and it was perfect!

I then added a bit of purple, and that light brown transition shade to the bottom lashline, I smoked it out a bit to really pull the look together.

I took a champagne color shadow for the inner corner of her eye, and on the brow bone

Then I applied some bronzer to her skin, I made sure to place the bronzer right where her hallow of the cheeks are. I then placed the blush (Tarte- partayyyy) on the apples of the cheeks, I also blended this upwards. Then for highlighter, I actually used the Manny MUA Greek Goddess Highlighting palette. I placed that on top of her cheekbones.

She topped it off with a lipstick from Lorelle the infallible line.
