Grandma’s Acne Remedy

If you guys have been following me on social media, YouTube, or even on here you know I have been struggling with acne this past month and a half. I want to give a little backstory so you guys know my story.

I had to switch a few medicines and my skin was fine, then it just started breaking out like crazy last month. I was getting white heads, I was getting cystic acne. I was breaking out EVERYWHERE but mostly on my chin.

My dermatologist changed my acne medicine and it did help a little but it made me so dry. That was a first time ever being dry. My chin and around my nose were so dry but the rest of my face was still super oily. I didn’t know what to do with makeup or even moisturizing.

When that didn’t work I asked my doctor to change my medicine again because I couldn’t take it. People were pointing out my acne left and right, as if I didn’t notice it on my face. I have gotten all sorts of comments. Drink more water, exercise, eat better, wash your face. Yes, I do all of that. I have been doing all of that. But I was still getting really bad acne.

After talking to a friend I realized it is A LOT more common than I thought it was.

So this post, goes out to all my fellow people who struggle with acne. Know that you’re not alone. I’m 25 years old and I felt like a teenager again. This stuff happens. I couldn’t stand going bare faced because of how I thought people would look at me.  I know it’s such a hard feeling. But my friend made me realize that a lot of people, ANY age go through this.

So anyway, I changed my medicine about a week ago, and my face seemed to have gotten worse. But my lovely grandma came to the rescue with this home made remedy that has really helped my skin. It’s been a week and I see a huge improvement. (I’m giving credit to this more than my medicine because I started noticing a HUGE change when I started doing this).

It’s all natural, and really helps make my acne look less red.

Grandma’s Acne Remedy:
Two teaspoons of plain yogurt
One teaspoon of honey.

Mix together and leave on your face for a half hour.

It will dry up on your face, then wash it off with warm water. After splash your face with cold water. Then do your regular acne routine.

It makes my skin feel so cool and my acne seemed less red and irritated. Then the next day my acne seems to dry down, or it is ready to come up and pop. Some even went away.

I wanted to share with with you guys who wanted to try a natural route. I do this along with the medicine my dermatologist provided but it seems to help so so much!

What are some remedies you use for acne?

xo,

Melissa
