I received the PUR The Complexion Authority-Midnight Masquerade Palette in my October Boxy Charm. This retails for: $38.00 USD. Check it out here.
It is described as, “This 10-piece face palette will take any look from natural and innocent to sultry and mysterious. This limited-edition palette is arranged with highly pigmented and buildable shades that blend effortlessly into the face and eyelid for a look you’ll totally adore. Making a bold statement has never been easier with four, shimmery face powders and six, buttery eyeshadows that compliment all skin tones and eye colors.”
I still don’t know how I feel about this palette. I love the face side of the palette part. The blushes are beautiful- I’m just starting to get into blushes and I’m really loving the colors, especially the darker one! The highlight can be blinding if you build it up. The bronzer is a perfect color for me too. I feel like I can use the bronzer as an eyeshadow as well.
So onto the eye-shadow, I’m not sure how I feel. When I first looked at this palette I didn’t think that these colors would go together. But when I started playing with it I did see how you could create some nice combinations.
I don’t know if this is something I would reach for eye-shadow wise all the time because the colors aren’t really my shades, but I will reach for it for the face portion.
I would like to create more looks with these colors, but it is a little hard. I did create one look so far with my unboxing video, check it out here. I am really drawn to the burgundy color and the silver at the moment, I feel like that would be a nice Christmas look!
Overall would I recommend this palette? The pigmentation is pretty, there is no fallout, and it’s super easy to blend. The colors MAY be hard to combine and create looks with on the shadow side, but you can use your imagination and play with new colors. So yes, I would recommend this palette. I’m starting to step out of my comfort zone and I know this will help me do so.
Have you tried this palette? Show me some looks for inspiration!

Melissa
