I received the Waterproof 4K Action Camera courtesy of Magiforet. I knew I would be a great fit for this because I use my video camera 3x a week to post up videos on my YouTube Channel. I also wanted to venture more into the vlog type videos so viewers can come along with me, and my camera wouldn’t be so big. I knew a sport camera would be easy for me because they are so small.
First, this camera is so lightweight. Even with the case on it is still light! There are 4 buttons: the on/off button, the up and down button (which zooms also) and lastly the ok button. The on/off button also changes the input of the camera meaning, it can switch it to camera, video, slow or playback and even to the settings. The up button, tells you the wifi information, helps with navigation and it allows you to go to the next or back picture. The ok button is simply like a regular ok or enter button. I really like how they made this simple to use. They were efficient in using very minimal buttons which I like.
This camera literally came with everything. You can can see it in my photo, but here is what they list on the site :
- “including 2 rechargeable batteries,18 fascinating accessories, available for kinds of sports, such as cycling, motorcycling, running, diving, skiing, snorkeling, etc
- Other Excellent Features – 170° ultra wide angle, you can shoot much more scenery of your surroundings. 2″ HD LCD screen, micro SD card supported maximum 64GB, HDMI output”.
All I needed was one of those small memory cars, which I already had so it was perfect! I can mount this to my car, a belt, a helmet! Making it perfect for any adventure that awaits me!
This camera also had great quality of photos! I was only able to take a few photos and I did NOT change any of the settings on the camera yet. Check out some of the photos below. I don’t know why it states it’s taken by AllWinners… but I did take these photos! Right outside my job too!
I hope you guys are able to click the images and see them for their full size! But you can really see each crisp leaf in the photo which I think is amazing! Because the app for the phone isn’t the best (we’ll get to that in a few paragraphs) the only way to get your photos or videos to your computer/phone is to put is to import it to your computer with a wire/memory card. If you have a newer Apple computer you do have to use an adapter (you can get it at Best Buy).
So far the battery life on this seems to be doing pretty well! I charged it for about 2 hours when I first received this in the mail and have used for about 20 minutes and my battery didn’t go down at all. I WILL keep you guys posted on this as time goes on! But I do like how I have an extra battery in case one does die mid adventure.
So I only have 2 cons:
One is the case it comes in, which is the waterproof one. When I had my camera in there and I was trying to hit the up and down button the case button would not reach the camera button (I hope this makes sense) so those buttons did not work for me. I feel like that will 100% be an issue because I may need to zoom in or out when using the case.
The other con was that the app really doesn’t work. I played around with it for a full day and the app only worked for me once. After that it said the camera is offline. The app has a lot of potential. You can look at what the camera is viewing on the app, and even change the settings to photo, slow, or video on the app itself. I really do like the overall idea of the app but it really needs to update. I feel like if they fixed the connection issue it would be perfect, because when it did work, it was so cool. It wasn’t only me who experienced this issue- I looked at other reviews and they stated that as well.
Overall I really love this camera. It’s a $42 dollar value and I received it for 8.99. This is something I will defiantly bring with me on all my adventures.
