I ordered this product after one of my best friends said she heard a lot of YouTubers rave about it. I also saw how much Casey Holmes loved it and I just needed to get my hands on it.

I bought it from Ulta here. It retails for $8.99 USD. It has 14 shades total, 6 of them being online only.

IMG_0987Ulta describes the product as, “L.A. Girl’s Pro.matte Foundation evens out skin tone with a soft suede matte finish. The long-wearing formula is light weight and is a medium to full coverage foundation. Provides complete, natural-looking coverage and evens skin tone”.

This is my second day wear test, so please tell me if you like it!

Here’s a breakdown of my process:

I start doing my makeup at around 6:50 a.m. and usually end it by 7:05 a.m.

So first, I use the TOO FACED Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer which retails for $32 USD for a regular size and $15 USD for a mini. You can find it here. It is “a cooling, mattifying primer that blurs, smooths, and brightens the complexion”. It says it “offers up to 12 hours of shine control, lasts up to 16 hours and smells like peaches and cream”. I use about 1 pump of this primer. It does have a light peach and cream smell, nothing too strong.

I then applied the L.A. GIRL Pro. Matte Foundation. I ordered the shade Natural.  The shade was a shade too light for me. I think Medium beige would have been the perfect fit. The shade does oxidize about 2 shades darker so it could have also been too dark! Natural came out SUPER light, and but after I applied it and finished up the rest of my makeup, it just seemed to be a shade lighter than my “summer color.” So please be careful about oxidation. I applied it with a dry beauty blender and dabbed it into my skin.

Then, I used the TOO FACED Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder. You can find it here and it retails for $32 USD. It is a “lightweight and comfortable, mattifying loose powder in a universal peach tint.” Apparently, this powder is great for, under eye baking, I have not tried that yet.

I stuck to my Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray. Find it here.  I swear by this, no matter what foundation/primer/powder I  used, this setting spray made SUCH a huge difference.

My office’s air goes from hot to humid, so I thought this would be a great test. I ran to Harmon during lunch, and am going to have dinner with a friend tonight so I thought it would be a perfect day to test it out.
Here are my thoughts throughout the day:

7:05 a.m. It was pretty easy to blend out, and I do look very matte. It feels lightweight. It oxidized so it’s about a shade lighter than my color now. It mixed pretty well with my Kat Von D concealer.
10:00 a.m. I’m starting to see a bit of oil on my forehead and feel the foundation sitting on top of my skin. But it’s still holding up pretty well.
12:00 a.m I am starting to a see a lot of oil on my forehead. I also feel the foundation sitting on my cheeks and forehead. I still haven’t blotted to get the full effect.  My foundation is practically off where my glasses sit. and around my nose
3:00 p.m. The foundation is sort of separating around my chin and mouth. It looks pretty uneven now up close.

5:30 p.m. I’m pretty oily, and it seems like the foundation wore off on my chin. It also is starting to stick to some parts of my face- I’m not dry anywhere either. It feels sooo heavy on my face.  I powdered my face because I needed to and I also wanted to see how it would hold up with more powder.
7: 30 p.m. My face looked cakey when more powder was added while some parts look like I have no makeup on.  My pores looked huge and I was already oily. That happened so quick and it’s cool out!
9:00 p.m. My makeup still felt so heavy, like oil was sitting right on top of my skin. It didn’t feel blended in at all.

Final verdict: It’s not very matte and not very long-wearing. It rubbed off and looked cakey. The lightweight feeling, in the beginning, disappeared by the middle of the day. I would not recommend this foundation at all if you have super oily skin. It stuck to odd spots and made me super oily in others. Even with all of

Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?
