Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation- Day Wear Test

This is my first ever day wear test review. I have seen a lot of YouTubers do it via video, so I thought, “hey I’m a writer let me try doing a blog post about this.” I hope this one is a success!

I heard about this foundation through Christen Dominique, one of my favorite beauty gurus. She said if you have oily skin this would be perfect for you, so I went ahead and bought it.

Then I saw it on Casey Holmes videos. She is another beauty guru and has oily skin. This product actually didn’t work for her! So I decided to do a full day wear test with my normal products to see how it would compare to my one love, Too Faced Peaches and Cream Comfort Matte Collection.

Here’s a breakdown of my process.

I start doing my makeup around 6:50 a.m and usually end it by 7:05 a.m.

So first, I use the TOO FACED Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer which retails for $32 USD for a regular size and $15 USD for a mini. You can find it here. It is “a cooling, mattifying primer that blurs, smooths, and brightens the complexion”. It says it “offers up to 12 hours of shine control, lasts up to 16 hours  and smells like peaches and cream”. I use about 1 pump of this primer. It does have a light peach and cream smell, nothing too strong.

I then applied the Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation in the shade Natural Beige. I used a beauty blender to apply this foundation. It is a long-lasting, full coverage foundation.  The website says, “Saturated color pigments provide an ultra-transforming effect in this long-lasting foundation. The lightweight, yet high-impact coverage formula glides onto the skin for a flawless makeup finish that lasts all day. Oil-free. Doesn’t clog pores. Dermatologist tested.” You can purchase or check it out here. They offer 16 different shades of this foundation.

Then, I’ll use the TOO FACED Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder. You can find it here and it retails for $32 USD. It is a “lightweight and comfortable, mattifying loose powder in a universal peach tint.”  Apparently this powder is great for under eye baking, I have not tried that yet.

I stuck to my Ubran Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray. Find it here.  I swear by this, no matter what foundation/primer/powder I  used, this setting spray made SUCH a huge difference.

Here are my thoughts throughout the day. My office’s air goes from hot to humid, so I thought this would be a great test. Plus after work, I’m running home having dinner and then going to my friend’s house then a bar. So this action-packed day is a great testing day for this foundation.

7:30 a.m thoughts: This applied so smooth, it provides great coverage and minimizes texture. My pores don’t look as noticeable either. It looks very matte but is super lightweight. I used a dry beauty blender with it for a more full/matte finish.
9:30 a.m thoughts: I asked my friend at work her thoughts on this foundation, and she loved it. She said it looks super natural and not cakey at all. I don’t see any oil. The texture is still really smooth. Looked great in a selfie I sent to my friend! My allergies are acting up today, so I’m sneezing a lot, and this foundation is actually pretty transfer proof with tissues! A big win for me. There’s a little transfer on my glasses though, but that is normal for me. One positive though is my glasses aren’t sliding down my face!
12:30 p.m. thoughts: My skin is still looking great guys! It’s not as matte as it was when I first applied it, it has more of a demi-matte finish. Meaning, it’s still really matte but not flat!

3:30 p.m. thoughts: I took two walks today one around 1:30 p.m. and another around 3 p.m. It’s 90+ degrees here in Jersey. My face got a little oily on forehead. I sort of feel the oils on my cheeks. But because of the crazy temperature this is all normal. There’s still no cakey-ness or weird texture. I still have not blotted my face. My glasses are still holding up pretty well, they haven’t slid down.
5:30 p.m. thoughts: II am a bit oily now, but again it’s a really hot day in Jersey! I was only oily on my forehead. I feel like I could blot now, but decided against it to check out the full performance. There is still no texture difference.
7:30 p.m. thoughts: I freshened up my makeup by applying my powder. I had to go to a friends house and bar. I added just a little bit of my peachy powder and was all set to go. There was still no texture of fading. I still had a demi-matte finish.
9:30 p.m. thoughts: My friend said she loved this foundation on me. There was no fading or texture, but you could see my pores a bit more. I still had a demi-matte finish.

Before bed thoughts: I went to bed around 1 a.m. That’s a full 17 hours wearing this foundation! Overall, I think this foundation held up pretty well, especially on the hot day. I loved the matte finish at first then the demi-matte look as the day went on. I only got oily twice, but that was on my forehead and after a while. The foundation had a great coverage and didn’t show much texture until before bed, a full 17 hours later! That is amazing! It really stuck with me all day and night! It’s also super lightweight which I love. It’s hard to find a good full coverage foundation that isn’t heavy or cakey. But this foundation really worked.

After this wear test, I think I will continue to use this foundation when I need full coverage. The color was a perfect match for me and helped with all my skin concerns. IT kept me matte, evened out my texture, blurred pores. It was perfect.

I hope you guys liked the all day wear test!

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

xo,

Melissa
