I received the Alamar Reina Del Caribe in my June BoxyCharm. It retails for $28.00 USD. You can find it here.
I was so excited to try this palette. It features 8 highly opaque shades, which remind some people of Cuba. They have both matte and metallic shades.
Boxycharm recommends, “for a more intense application, refer to the shade names that feature a water droplet that can be used with a wet brush—the sun symbol, for application with a dry brush.” I don’t think I have ever used a wet brush for eye-shadow! But guess what? Now I can.
First, each color is so pigmented. I didn’t have to constantly rub to get a nice swatch. It was a great one and done swipe. When I apply on my lids I literally need a tiny dab to get the color across- it is that pigmented! I feel like because of that, this palette will last a long time.
As I mentioned before I am so used to doing neutral eyes. Well, this palette is pushing me out of my comfort zone, in a good way! It has fun colors, so you can add a little pop of color if you’d like. You can make so many pretty color combination looks with this palette. I’ve been reaching for it since I received it.

Another bonus? There is minimal to no fallout! Even with the glitter shades. How amazing is that!?
I really love how you can use this palette wet or dry. I haven’t tried it wet, but I can just imagine how pigmented that would be. This palette would make suchhh a pretty mermaid look.
Swatches in order: “La Costa, El Malecon, Varadero, Celia, Coco-Taxi, Tropico, Guantanmera, Cafecito”
I’m still learning how to swatch. Do you guys have swatch tips? Let me know in the comments!
