Let me start off by saying I’m a lippie addict. I love lipstick, I own too many for my own good, I just can’t help it. My secret? I’m the worst at reapplying lipstick. Yes, I know what lipstick stays on for 8+ hours? I did find a few! Matte lipstick became my best friend because they stay on the longest, but I do have a forever love/ secret hate with glosses.
Until I got introduced to lipsense. A co-worker started selling lipsense and I was curious. After much research I figured why not try it. A lipstick that stays on all day? Count me in. My first purchase was made out of curiosity and then I fell in love.
My first purchase was the starter kit. That includes a color, a top coat and the Ooops remover. I chose Bella, and the glossy gloss to start off with. Bella seemed like it would be a good neutral starter color for me.

When I received it I got a little instruction sheet (I since threw it away -sorry guys). First, you take the color tube and shake it. Then apply a thin layer on your top then bottom lip in one swoop each. When you apply it you may feel a sting but it will soon go away. Tip- make sure you don’t close your lips, keep them parted- otherwise they will stick together. Then after 15 seconds, apply a thin second coat, starting at the opposite side, again in one swoop. Then wait 15 seconds and apply another thin layer, going in the first direction. I like going in opposite directions so you get more of an even application. Lastly, wait 15 seconds and apply your top coat.

The color usually lasts me all day, perfectly, IF I apply the top coat before or after I eat and a few times throughout the day.
After I realized I could even mix the colors together to make new colors, I decided I needed more. So I went and ordered more colors, plus a matte top coat!

My swatches are not the best so I apologize, but here are my colors top to bottom: Bella, Caramel Apple, B. Ruby, Sassy Z, Praline Rose, Napa, and Mulled Wine.
The only negative thing I can say about lipsense is that if you have a darker color it’s hard to get it it even across your lips. You may have a darker outline or some lighter areas. This is how I learned starting at different directions help make the coats as even as possible. Sometimes even a 4th coat helps.
Here’s my test of lipsense:
I put my wrist area under hot and cold water and rubbed. See not a budge! This lipcolor really stays! If you make a mistake make sure to use the Ooops remover, otherwise it’s hard to get off.

A tip when using the matte top coat- you’ll have to apply it more than the glossy top coat -about every 3 or so hours. I usually apply the glossy top coat every 4 hours or so. But the time varies from person to person, I’m constantly drinking tea out of a mug so it wears off a bit faster for me compared to other people.
Remember the only thing about this product is you have to apply the gloss every few hours, especially before/after meals for best results. Otherwise there will be some color fading on the middle of your lip. But seriously, this color stays on all day!
You can only purchase it through distributors. Check out the lipsense website here and find a distributor. The maker, SeneGence, makes other makeup products as well, which I review at a later time.
